    12 dead

I dont think the average koi will ever make it to 30". If they did then shows would be filled with 30+" koi which they aren't.
That is way too true for comfort, but then again if we want to shoot for the "real average" we'd have to include the W.G. crowd which would plug "dead" in somewhere around 13" and 3-4 years old

average growth or worst growth or best growth??

Typical in my system over the last 20 years-- most of my older fish have died at ages 15-20. I had one that made it to 22 but not in my pond over the last 4 years.

1- I haven't bought a one year old in 20 years other than a few Sakai gave me and grew out there and then I gave them back.
    2- 12- 14 inches
    3- 18- 19 inches
    4- 22- 24 inches
    5- 26 inches- 27 inches
    6- 28 inches- 29 inches
    7- 28 inches- 30 inches
    8 - 29 in - 32 inches
    9 - 29 in- 32 inches ( I've never owned a fish bigger than 32 and most are 27- 29 inches).
10- not much growth but more volume
11- not much growth but more volume
12 - no real changes with maybe some getting above 29 inches
    13 no change
    14 no change
    15 no change
16 some fish died of unknown causes
    17 same- some losses
18 odd but if they make 18 they make 20 years of age it seems??

Steve, I'm clueless as to what your doing but I have to mention this-- are you taking sex into consideration. NOT sex in general, I know you always take that into consideration! LOLs. I mean sex of THE FISH at age? If so, mine are all females of pretty good lineage. JR

I took the long debate on that one too.

I also tried to reconcile if I would post for gosanke vs hikari vs kawari.

Then I decided to ignore the stuff with carp outcrosses.

Thanks for your input Bradley. I'll get your data entered.

Thanks to all who have responded. I encourage others to keep on adding their data as well.

I am going to start a "part Dueax" thread here in a bit and perhaps somethings will become clear (no royalty to JR for that one).
