Those close ups make it more difficult. I thought 480 looked good on the video...now, with a better picture, it seems the head is a little too small for the body. Could not tell that before. I still really like sanke 201. The other issue is we do not know the true sizes. They all say 90cm....but, some could be 110 and make the others look like babies!! Tough to judge from pics.

Mark has put up a nice 19 minute video of the show with views of his top five.
You have to love the HD video!

You're absolutley right , David. One too small and sunken * "pig eye" and the other is swollen and enlarged ( could be swollen from a bump along the way?) JR

I haven't seen the sanke from down Hiroshima way, ( hadn't arrived when I left for Shinagawa yesterday) I'll be back around one to check that one out but so far, it's the kohaku for my money. I love the showa but the size is overwhelming on that kohaku. The other famous fish there are showing some age and a few some deformities. All in, there are more contenders this year than I've seen in years--- good show! Really good show. JR
