    I have discussed this koi with my buddy, so I'll hold back on commenting for now. I know he has not posted up the photo for the pattern, but for the other appreciation points.

    A different anlge for you.

    It would be a cull anywhere but for me and where I sit in the hobby pattern placement comes a big second atm

    If I were in your shoes I would have kept it too. It looks like you are developing a marusome kiwa characteristic on some lustrous skin. The sumi quality looks pretty solid and stepping stones are always appealing to my eye. Is it safe to assume your goal is to use it for a next generation breeding effort to build on those traits?

    Thanks very much for the post i enjoy the honesty here as I have some goals and I will never achieve them without honest opinion.
    If you were in my shoes and would have kept it says a lot.
    Moving forward to the next generation would be fantastic.
    It would be nice to breed a fish to get me there ive been stuck in the first generation for a few years now.

    Any chance of posting up a picture of the parents? It might be interesting to see if the parents carry the same traits, or if this one is a improvement, especially since the goal is to be moving forward.
