    Sakai Sanke Development

    Hi All
Bought this fish last week - received it on Wednesday, with the hope that there would be sumi on the shoulder developing later (pic 1).Amazinly - just one week on the sumi appears from nowhere. (pic 2 and 3 taken today)

Ah, the pectoral has healed nicely. The pattern is very strong and appealing to my eye, with the sumi developing from the rear toward the head. By this time next year, I expect the sumi steps will be bold. I think you've found the maruten that will keep you happy. Congrats!

Very cool pattern on this koi. And I agree with Mike. The sumi looks to be quite strong and on the charge here as well. Enjoy

Nice fish! Thank you for sharing. I like the sumi you have now. It will be fun watching as more sumi develops.

Nice catch. The Sumi on the march is obviously a great development, but beyond that I like the look of the skin. Very lustrous and rich in guanine content, which I always like to see as it portends strength and longevity potential for all colors and pattern development. I'll be curious to see if the "new" sumi at the dorsal line connects with the underlying sumi down the left side. You've got one to enjoy watching as she grows up

Love the confirmation on the Sanke, especiallt the height of the tail tube. Sumi will slowly come in, great pattern!

Thanks Cliff. Very happy - the fish benched at 31cm, and beat some tough competition, some of which were at the 50cm mark (our cut-off). Not often a smallie beats the biggies
