I have it on good authority that Saddam intented to turn his hole in the ground into a koi pond. All the koi in Japan should be rejoicing the Americans today!

I would be inerested in knowing what celebraties do own koi. I think i remember hearing that Axle Rose is a koi hobiest.

Ray Abell was telling me he deals with an L.A. broker who supplies fish to many stars... anyone ever bumped into someone famous outside of the hobby at a koi show?

The Daily Telegraph supplement magazine did an article a few years back, titled "Kindred Spirits" which listed celebrity Koi keepers.

The list included Francis Rossi of Status Quo, Sir Philip Harris, the actor Brian Blessed, newsreader Peter Sissons, comedian Jim Davidson, music mogul Pete Waterman, Professor Paul Cook, sports commentator David Vine and Sir Peter Parker. Additionally of course there was Freddy Mercury and I believe Mark McNulty the golfer.

Don't forget Nigel Benn the boxer.

I can confirm that McNulty was a koi keeper. He exhibited koi at the 93 South East Show. We brought forward his presentation so that he could make it to the airport in time. Jim Davidson now owns the 97 SE GC having bought it from its previous owner when she sold up.
