9th Annual First Coast Koi Club Show- Oct 8,9

The First Coast Koi Club of Jacksonville, is busy getting everything prepared for our 9th annual show at the Masonic Lodge, 2914 Loretto Rd, Jacksonville, FL on Saturday and Sunday, October 8 and 9. Nothing like a koi show on a warm and sunny Fall day with lots of vendors and some of the area's top koi to ogle and critique.

A thousand 'thank-yous', beforehand, to the Masons, the vendors, our AKCA judges, but most of all the volunteers who work so hard and yet make it all seem so easy and fun.

    Thanks for your interest, Dick.

Last year's show drew over 125 fish from throughout the North Florida area, and this year, even given the tough economy, we are already expecting more than 100 entries. We will have 11 vendors, both 'wet' and 'dry' present, and a catered awards banquet Saturday evening as well. We are fortunate enough have the show situated in a large grassy area in front of the local Masonic lodge in suburban Jacksonville, FL with the convenient use of a dining/banquet hall right on the premises.

Our AKCA judges who have graciously agreed to attend are Tom Ayers of Tucson, AZ and Marc Skaggs of Indianapolis. Club members are looking forward to dinner with these fine folks at Clark's Fish Camp the evening before the show.

Now some might find eating 'fish' right before a koi show rather alarming, but Clark's is a local icon in a very scenic riverside setting, and we think both Tom and Marc will enjoy it!

Judging from the entrants already signed up to show the best of their ponds, we expect the quality of fish to exceed even last year's exhibition, and a large turnout from area koi enthusiasts.
