    Carolina Classic Koi Show

The North Carolina Koi and Watergarden Society's (NCKWGS) Carolina Classic Koi show was held this weekend on the grounds of East Coast Koi Imports in New Hill, NC. I was fortunate enough to take a couple of koi to the show.
The grounds that Bobby Wang of East Coast Koi has put together are impressive. A beautifully landscaped waterfall flowing into a large pond, separate koi sales house, and growout mudponds were the setting for the show.
The Wang family and the members of the NCKWGS were very gracious hosts and apparently the show is going to be held there again next year.
Judges Joe White and Chuck Poppe were kind enough to talk about their decisions while they were judging and on Sunday morning gave excellent pointers during the judges walkthrough.
I had taken my camera to get some pictures to post, but I realized I had left my memory card at home Hopefully someone else can post pictures of the winners soon.
I was fortunate enough to take Grand Champion B with a two year old Tancho Sanke and had enough internal memory on my camera for a couple of pictures, one of which I've attached. I am looking forward to going back next year and expect this relatively new show to get bigger every year

Alas, Brother David her chubbiness is due to poor photo cropping skills of her owner. I'll try to give you two more pictures that might do her more justice. I think I've finally figured it out. The second picture is more true to life.
