    Saki Hikari

Got a big bag of Saki Hikari that I opened last year and fed the food to my koi, but haven't used it since then. The bag has been kept in a dark and dry location, and the "best before date" on it is June 6, 2013. Can I still feed it to my koi? I know it may have lost some of its nutritional benefits since I opened it, but because it's so darn expensive, I want to know if it's still usable.

    Definitely!

Cool, dark and dry location would make it very stable.

    I also agree

So much of this hobby is attention to detail. storage of food properly is something very big. Many questions I get asked along the way are difficult to answer because I really don't know how advanced the water keeper is. So much rests on that also.

Mr T, don't be afraid to open a bag of food and smell it. If it smells sour or doesn't seem to have been sealed properly, your furthur along to not feed it.
(when in doubt throw it out )
