Some folks already flew there this morning... I am going to help few friends to bag their fish for the trip. I won't be there until tomorrow AM, so do not know any together plans Richard. But they normally get together at the Holiday Inn bar for social, drink, and talk about koi, but no occupy socal for sure ;-))

I was going to suggest the same. If you only have time for one amusement park then I would suggest Universal Studios in LA. It is great fun for half a day. Even my old parents loved it. It's all about Hollywood which I am sure most Japanese would enjoy. Disneyland in Anaheim is good too but it's a long day and it will rain this weekend. There are tons of things to do in LA and OC and San Diego, so you might not have to go all the way to Vegas. But if you have time, then definitely hit Vegas. They'd love that. Venice Beach and Santa Monica pier is fun on Saturday morning if it doesn't rain too hard. Getty's art museum is free and fantastic but it's a little hard to book the tickets this late. If there are women along, then definitely shopping, but I have no ideas where the malls are, I have not been in one for 10 years.

Perry the co-owner of Eastern Nishikigoi has a very nice pond with high quality jumbos in Huntington Beach which is not too far from Gardena. You know him already. Many of the ZNA members have great ponds in LA and OC so if you just ask, they'll drive you around for a pond tour for sure. There are some fantastic ponds here, but how could they possibly compare to those in Japan.

There's Little Saigon in Orange County for Vietnamese food. Try some all you can eat buffet places like Todai in Cypress or in Huntington Beach . I took some Japanese friends once, and they loved to pig out. They seemed awestruck by the mountain of food that we Americans could consume. But save the buffets for Vegas if you plan to get there.
    Good luck!

He he! You joked but Occupy LA was actually very fun. I went there one night. If it were still there, I would highly recommend visiting it. More fun than the zoo.

Kois from Dainichi has already arrived in Cal along with mixed tosai from Koi Hunting and all will be available to sell on Sat at the SoCal show.

Tom, I got 4 Lakers tickets at the Staples Center for Sunday night game I can trade for koi

    Thanks Ricshaw!

It's hard not to buy a tosai or two when they look that good! I always did when Shigeru came to Houston every spring.

Looks like the who's who of koi judges and koi people in your last video. And a new face in the judging program...congrats Ryan Vo!

It's amazing how smal the koi community is. I do recognize a few of the faces. Definitely a great judging team!
