My current issue of KOI USA magazine list two Koi clubs in Missouri.

    St. Louis Water Gardening Society

    and

    Springfield Watergarden Society

The Midwest Pond and Koi Society (illinois) has a Koi Show in July.

Opportunity as in opportunity for you to spearhead a koi show in the area

All you need are a few show tanks, a few dedicated members, a site, a judge and a few sponsors

Of course there are a few more details in there to make it happen

There are a few past/current show chairs on this board that can give a few pointers to putting on a successful show

    Best

Best way to prepare for hosting a new show is to attend and participate in at least one show.

I have been to some shows but have never judged 1 or even helped.
But Would any one be willing to put 1 on with me, or help . I'm willing to become an intern/apprentice at a show
To learn the ropes ( Lol).

All the New Show Material has been sent but I guess it hasn't been updated, Sorry. All information is the same besides the dates and again the Show is Memorial Day Weekend.

The Louisville Club has members that live in the St. Louis area, They are looking into having a Show in the future. Pondkid, If you want a person to contact send me a PM and I'll get this to you.

To become a judge, you have to have several years under your belt with koi keeping, and have to be a non-professional. I believe you have to attend judging seminars, and shows around the nation to learn how, and then, you can be awarded the honor of a judge.

If you can attend a show, be sure to go Sunday for the judges walk around, and hear what they have to say about the koi, and why they chose it.
