    Pond Spring Openinig

My pond will be opening on or about March 15th. Only about two weeks away. Anyone else live in the Midwest? When will you be opening your ponds for Spring? I always feed my Koi Hikari Wheat germ. Any other suggestions?

Yupp. This time 3 years ago it was 70*, and in 2 weeks later, we got 10" of snow. This weather is unreliable to say the least. I'll be opening my pond mid March.

My cousin lives in Northern Kentucky and says the temps will be in the 60s this week. I wish it was that warm here. Today, we'll get to 54 degrees, so the weather guy says.

Then it is too cold to be thinking about 'opening' it.

Right, that's why the plan is for mid to late March for an opening.

    Friday April 6th

My pond will be cleaned out and opened on Friday, April 6th. The temps in Chicago are in the 60s & 70s this week. I'm hoping the water gets a bit warmer during this week.
