Cheers,
Vic.
maybe i'm just getting picky in my olde age, but I looked thru all of the patterns on all the koi and #49 in 2 year olds, was the only thing that created some interest for me. Any more I've got to find something a little different thanthe standard "cookie cutter". thanks for posting![]()
Nr 21 is very nice in my eye. Nr 20 my second favorite and then nr 42. I guess there is something for most of us. Jumbo tosai nr 295 also got my attention.
I love the classic look of nisai Sanke #1and Kohaku #6. Also like jumbo tosai Sanke #207. It reminds me of the SFF Sanke that won Best in Variety in this years AJKS.
Devin of Koi Acres is attending the SFF auction in person. If you want to place your bid for any beauty, you can ping him. He will be happy to help.
Best,

Yes, I have wondered why the two sansai are included in the auction. The Showa is too dark for my taste. The Sanke stands out with her unique pattern, which commands the eye. Going back to her body lines and brightness, she becomes more impressive. I wish SFF posted short videos of the auction fish.
Indeed Brother Mike,
Sansai sanke is ever show ready , and would be one beautiful fish to watch as she develope further the next few years . These 2 Sansai that are added to the current auction simply becos most private viewers would not agree with the "price" that were quoted by Sakai during harvest / selling months ( between November-Jan ) . It had been quite a norm the last few years that such "left-over" actually received a higher bid than what they were originally quoted . Sounds cranky , but it happened the last few years . I remembered a Sansai Sanke which I passed for 3.5 mill Yen during one private visit , that went on for 5.5 Mill Yen during one of the auctions . This is reason why Sakai FF had been holding strong on prices for some of their good fishes .
