    New Koi

Well, my pond has been open for a few weeks now. However, nights are still cold in Chicago and the koi are still hiding. I put in 10 4-5" koi and 2 shubunkins the same size. Also two banded sharks. My one large Koi 16" survived from the winter and racoons. Here are some pics of the koi I bought.

While I agree the first pic are probably koi, (the pic is painfully small) they are difficult to assess. Sorry M8 but if you want meaningful replies the pics need to be viewable on a computer screen.

In the wild, the 'Chinese Banded Shark' can exceed a meter in length. The color contrast disappears as they mature.

Found maybe 6-10 tiny baby Koi in my pond yesterday. Too tiny to get pictures yet. I will post as soon as they get big enough.
