    Oyster Shell ?

    Is it necessary to use only oyster shell for buffering your water or will any type shell work? I have access to lots of clam and scallop shells for free, I know oyster shells have calicum in them but what about other shells? just trying to save a couple of $. thx in advance

    in an old nichirin mag that I have there is an article on the use of scallop shell as prefered over oyster or clam!

    Have you guys tried Doc J's "hockey puck" formula? Worked for me.

    Scallop shells are fine.
