If you have read about them you know they are a type of wet and dry filter. You set up a series of containers that hold media (real bakki house, feather rock lava rock) through which you cascade a serious water flow....as opposed to a modest flow rate in trickle tower or foam fractionator.

You will find that many of us use Orbis Stackpak long boxes and drill out the bottoms. You can find them at US Plastics and other retailers.

You might want to check out this thread if you have not read it already.

    Question regarding Bakki Showers
Koi keeping is not a belief system; it is applied science with a touch of artistry.

I dont have much suitable containers here so I used beer crates...removed with frinder the partitions and stacked them over each other...
O top I put the pipes like a U with the holes having greater specing nearer to the pump...I put inside large peaces of hand made bricks...with lots of voids...That is all i could get...he he he!
I think I should call my filtration: HillBilly filtration...

The concept behind the shower filter works with any open media.

In regard to the brick, I have read of a couple of instances where particular brick leached copper into a pond. Others have not had an issue. It depends on the brick, how it was made, etc. I mention this simply to remind folks that when being creative in addressing one goal, another may be overlooked.

How will I know if it is leaking copper?
They are just bricks from clay no additives in them...
