So hopefully ZNA can steer clear of this brother against brother civil war. JR
I got the impression that AKJA is for judges and AKCA is for clubs.

Will Koi clubs be affiliated with AKJA or just Koi club shows?

I believe we will see a new organization for clubs. This will all take time.

NFC vs the AFL or maybe the NFL vs the world football league. I don't know, I'm not as good at these sports analogies as my bud Jim is.

( Removed due to joke made in bad taste-- shame on me!)
Honestly I need to joke about this to get past it.. Feeling a bit better about it and keep reminding myself, its just a hobby and people are indeed disposable no matter what their contribution. Ok, now I'm getting serious again--- where are my 'tablets' JR

    JR,

I am afraid that in the small world of US koi keeping, this may be the equivalent of the Great Schism of 1054. That one never healed despite many a prayer. Lets hope this does not indeed to out to be a modern "East-West game" (on many levels).

The Great Schism of 1054. It has been at least 40 years since this term has passed before my eyes and I am truly in awe that such an obscure historical event could ever be used as a comparison to something transpiring today. Other than the bit about the unleavened bread, it's pretty accurate!

You couldn't possibly mean me....I'd use an NBA analogy for this.

I don't think the Great Schism was an obscure historical event. The outcome has profound impacts to this day, especially in the West. Using it as a reference seemed to the be the orthodox approach. I do realize that in both cases some folks will not give an Iota about the outcome.

wow, very good. The pope is dead, long live the pope! Better than my football analogy or Jim's NBA analogy!

Keeping that theme alive, that schism destroyed the church for a time and created 'multiple popes' for a time. in the end, the lasting effect was that the legitimacy of a pope was brought into question for the duration and Greek orthodoxy remains a reminder. Interesting analogy. You are a clever and bright man, MCA! JR
