cure for a herpes virus? once you have a herpes virus....you have it. That is why folks who get chicken pox can develop shingles later in life. The same virus gives both.

in theory you can inoculate with a vaccine to prevent the initial infection. but that is preventative...not a cure for an active infection.

Not as a 'cure'. As an innoculation against contracting it right? JR

    according to dortor:

once infected fish deep into the solution, it is non-active KHV. it will not be a carrier of KHV.

I thought the KHV vaccine worked a lot like the Small Pox vaccine. The Small Pox vaccine was a based on a weaker strain called Cow Pox. The human body was able to build up an immunity against Small Pox after being exposed to the Cow Pox strain.

Cow Pox didn't eradicate Small Pox, but it saved lives and severely limited outbreak. That is what Cavoy possibly offers the koi keeping industry.
