Showa - I set out last year to breed a decent showa but i failed. Most had far to little beni. There are one or two that i am keeping an eye on still but to be honest most of these should be culled.

Shiro Utsuri \ Bekko - The shiro and sumi on these babies are amazing. These are from a showa female and Omsako shiro male and Torazo x Dainichi male Kohaku.

Hi powerman, no i dont have any mud ponds. I bred these in 3 3000l vats. I just do alot of culling to keep the stocking density low. I keep a few of the best for myself and then i sell the rest...if i can.

    Hi Wayne,

How big are they? They are looking great. Thanks for posting those videos! I am also a backyard breeder. I only have room to raise one spawn per year for fun. I was thinking of breeding a pair of showa this year. In your showa parent set, I am curious to know the reasons why you had a kohaku male in the group?

    Thanks,
    Sunny

Hi sunny, me female is very traditional with heavy black. I took a bit of a gamble to try and strengthen the red and to hopefully get some kindai showas. The offspring has more white but now lacks in red badly.Wayne
