    "In Europe, female carp need about 11 000 to 12 000 degree-days to reach maturity in the temperate and subtropical climatic zones. Male carp are matured within a period that is 25-35 percent shorter. "

    http://agron-www.agron.iastate.edu/Courses/agron212/Calculations/GDD.htm

    Tmax = 25 C and Tmin= 10 C

    The daily contribution is GDD = (25 + 10)/2 – 10 = 7.5

    So the total number of days for 12,000 degree days at that daily rate is: 12,000/7.5 = 1600 days

    And that equates in years to: 1600/365 = 4.38 years
