The kujaku actually lightened up after 1 day in my white bottomed pool. Looking better already. Good question...where is JR and Larry? Miss seeing them here.

Larry comes by to read postings on occasion, but hardly posts since taking up the KoiUSA editor role. JR ceased posting on boards early in the year. Each has their reasons.

How dare they!!! Hope to see them return. I have been picking JR's brain for years. Miss the heated debates...lol.

Was thinking the Kujaku would lighten up back to normal after settling in. Like Dick was thinking about the beni color- I'm thinking more red than orange, but not fire engine red. I love that matsuba on this fish. Although some folks prefer a clean head, I like a koi with a nice face. I've seen this Kujaku a couple times in pics, glad we know the person who got it so we watch it develop.

BTW- they're harvesting right meow! Wonder what these turned out like???

I anticipate talking with Kurt and Conrad soon, thinking hard about some higher quality domestics.

I just got word during the kleinholz harvest at lunch break that things are going fabulously. My sanke came out at 16.5 inches. Word from kurt and Conrad is that the koi have never looked better. Hopefully you'll see some pictures posted from the event. Once you see the quality, you'll switch using the word domestic and replace it with American bred...

Cannot wait to see pics of the sanke Dick!! I really like many of the American breeders. They have come a long way. Lots of determination and hard work behind those improvements.

I'm really happy how she came out. I'm pleased with the tejima on the pec opposite of the shoulder sumi. Now if she'll just quietly produce a sumi spot on the same side as the tejima back by the odome to balance out the pattern. White is really nice. Definetely a tribute to the up and coming skills of American breeders... Thanks to the appliance guy for posting.....
