Mark Gardner's 'Niigata Seasons - Autumn'

The trailer for Mark's latest DVD is out. The trailer is a pleasure in itself, but beware. It will make you want a pond full of jumbos.

I've purchased and watched "Spring" & "Summer" of the Niigata Seasons and have "Fall" on the Christmas list. I'd suggest these Videos to everyone in the Hobby, unreal quality and a Video you'll be sure to watch way more than once.

I enjoyed watching the series as well. Seasons in the japanese culture have lots more meaning then in other cultures, as I discovered when I became a student of tokonoma display.

One comment that may avoid problems for folks watching..... the kiddie pools you see the harvesters putting koi into from the nets are selected because they are not sprayed with an algeacide which could kill the occupants. If you decide to use one for a similar reason make sure it has not been sprayed before using.

For being a gosanke guy most of my koi life and especially sanke....The fish that caught my eye repeatedly was the beauty of the benigoi....

Yes. ....If only all of them were so brilliant in person. Perhaps they are??? These were undoubtedly among the best these breeders produced. Seems to me that many breeders will keep a couple to fulfill the wish of the odd customer who comes along. For some reason, Benigoi have not filled the same niche as Chagoi in the marketplace.

Dainichis special Benigoi nisai are quite outstanding. Being bred not from kohaku parents but showa parents instead.

Got my DVD today. Definitely another excellent product. It was good to see Tim Waddy and Gibbo in the video.
