Kate or Ashley as you seem to post the same post on other forums as Ashley
sure are busy trying to promote this koi for some reason.

The picture does not show on my screen. In any event, without seeing the competitors, I do not know if I agree or not.

We can talk a lot about the importance of judges being independent, the potential for individual preferences to affect decisions and all sorts of related issues. It still is a competition of only the koi entered. When there are many beautiful koi entered, as at the Shinkokai All-Japan, there can be differences of opinion. I do not know if there was ever a unanimous decision on the first ballot. I doubt it. The best among worthy koi is not an easy thing to decide.

There are many people around who use different usernames on different forums, but i just posted this koi just here and on TPF forum, i really like this koi & just want opinions of others about this grand champion. Because the thread topic is what is judges criteria of selecting a grand champion. Here are many people posting their favourite koi's pictures, so, why you have issue with me, i am not posting the irrelevant thing, thanks.

I agreed... Judges pay their dues with advanced learning and you can do the same. Go to as many shows as youcan and see for yourself what the standard of quality is. If you never see the best you won't know what
to be able to select against. Going to the All Japan show will serve to accomplish that goal like no other
    way possible.

I read somewhere that the SFF Kohaku is larger than thought and is in better condition then last year.

Duc posted this link to the winner. I'm copying it into this thread

So, Troy picked her. SFF prevails again. I had wanted the Dainichi Toyota Kohaku to win, both because I like what I see and like the idea of GC going to a breeder who has not won before. ....Maybe next year.
