    Age?

I like Hasegawa Kohaku.. they don't grow as big as some other breeder's koi, but usually pretty nice. This one has a nice conformation, shiro and Marusome Kiwa. The pattern is pleasing.

Possible weak points are the trailing edge of the 1st step hi, and on the left side of the body on the second hi step. But it may be the picture too. Would like to see a tail stop.

A nice koi... Thnx for sharing her.

Nice Hasegawa Kohak, I like the body...Beni looks weak, looking at the center of each scale it looks pale. That is the only issue I have with your fish.

    kohaku

I like your kohaku callum, I think it would be good to see as many kohaku's from the members of the board as we can. So here's my own, Its good to compare and look at different bloodline Kohaku. As they are one of the most important koi varieties. Keokoi you must have some specimen kohaku lurking in your pond for us to see.

Callum: Very nice. I had a Hasegawa that I very much liked, but proved to be male and went to a new home. There is a tendency for Hasegawa Beni to deepen to a bright red with age, brighter than the orange-reds of some Kohaku lines. And, there are often very curious "modern" patterns. (Your's is more traditional.) For a long time his success was largely due to Western interest in his fish more than domestic Japanese interest. However, since Sakai obtained some Hasegawa stock to include in his breeding program, I've been told that Japanese interest in his fish picked up. I think you will be happy with her.
