I'm sure glad the Postal Service doesn't realize that Hawaii is part of the US... I got our KB on Tuesday... What a professional layout... You'd think it came from Tiffany... Geishas and all...

Funny thing...Bulk mail from Japan goes to L.A., for breakout before being sent to Hawaii, which is half way back to Japan... Maybe you CA guys and gals have ticked the Mag fairy off...

    Aloha! Mike

It was fun watching the little league championships! cONGRATS TO HAWAII!

My copy of KB came when I was in spokane so i sat tonight and read it.

First and foremost in every magazine since issue one, I always look to see how Brians daughters are growing and changing. So that's just a habit anymore

I think since issue one i have hoped someone ( anyone) would comment on the articles. Pro-con etc, but never get any feedback, so anyway won't ask this time.

I know some japanese words as they relate to koi but not all. It would be helpful I think to have and asteric and footnote of explaination so we could learn from the opportunity.

I will always be a big fan of Toshio so it was fun to read a feature on him.

I enjoyed finishing mike's article and appreciated him sharing what they have been learning. I do hope he continues to make contributions.

If I had a magic wand and could use it, I'd love to see an article on a breeder
who is passionate about Shusui's. Wife picked up a nice coffee cup of patti magee's at the spokane show with one on it. Friends john and cindy found a tosai hi shusui from Sakai hiroshima that was pretty special. If They hadn't found it first it'd be home with me!

The beauty of KB for me is....I read the articles to read and just enjoy them. Then I let that digest like a gormet meal and then pick it up again and dig a little harder to think about things being presented that I want to add to my knowledge.

thank-you Brian! Your efforts on our behalf is appreciated!!!!!!

I agree with Dick on the Japanese words.
The article I appreciated most was the one on Kohaku from a 113cm Benigoi. Now that is a serious hobbyest.
The one on Toshio Sakai were too secretive, all the things I would love to know he would not tell.
I always find it facinating the way Japanese looks at a koi, they talk about things I would never even consider. The next paragraph is a quote from an interview with Mr.Yamada on his Kohaku.
Do you see the silver in the shiroji on the bottom side? I was concerned how people would view it as when it was at 45-bu, but nobody said anything so I took it as a charm.
I really enjoyed this issue, there is a lot of good information in there.
