D has the body, A has the pattern. I vote for D. What's the problem with c. It sure has nice shiro.

B is #3 reason being is that it has the body but striking appeal isn't as strong as C, but beats out C by conformation. C conformation is okay. The body line is a typical shiro body or old style bodyline. I would prefer gosanke body, but you cant ask anymore than what the fish is already. The pattern would rank this fish higher but the lack of pattern on the weak tail joint has bumped it down....
Ditto, ditto, ditto A Bestest, D Best, B Better, C Good.

A has got it going on with great body & lightening strike pattern. I have to admit that there is something very striking about D, I actually kind of like the unbalanced motoguro on pecs because it balances out the white area on the shoulder to my eye. Speaking strictly from "technical" side, I have to stick with A as strongest contender for judging purposes. All black tail takes away from B, although nice body. C must be younger - seems yellow (and we all now how well acquainted with yellow shiro I am )

Okay, this is the wife speaking. I had the opportunity to work the books this last weekend at our ZNA show and follow the judges. What a great learning experience! From all I've been learning (don't get to spend as much time as hubby, have 3 little ones to chase) I would rank DABC

D- great body conformation but missing the balance on the pecs
A - the pattern jumps out at you and has decent body conformation
B - even those it's missing the black on the face has a better body than C
C - has the worst body conformation and has a pointed nose

What I learned is that when there are great fish around, look for the body conformation first and the pattern second. I actually prefer A over D pattern wise, but Ds body is better in my eyes.

Judges don't like pointed noses...our judges commented on one this weekend and it didn't even have a chance.

I'm still learning so this is just my very small and very unexperienced opinion.
