I like Purdin Showa. I have a couple acquired as tosai to raise just for fun. I expected to re-home the one I got last year after enjoying raising her for a season, but she turned out to be worth keeping another year. This past March I got another tosai and let Bill pick out what he thought would please me. She is developing very well so far and has grown considerably the past three months.

Your Showa appears to have very immature beni that is still developing and good quality sumi... also still developing. It may be a couple of years before you really know what you have. I think you will enjoy raising her.

I have not. Would like to go, but it seems to always conflict with something.... football season.

Love the Purdin 'Ueno' line. I currently have a male Showa purchased in 2011, as well as a nisai Showa still at the farm. Big bodied, and lovely heavy sumi.

Every year since 2011, and been there dozens of times throughout the year. Two events I must go to each year, Purdin Harvest and CFK&GS.

    Please try to attend!

Saturday, Nov 10 is the final pond harvest. Usually kicks off around 9ish. There's a lunch around noonish. Then on Sunday people come back to pick up their koi. We also take a 15 min drive to the retail facility where further koi can be purchased. If you need any advice on places to stay or directions, I can advise.

Thanks for the dates. Have you confirmed this with Purdins? Those dates will work for me and I will certianly be there. Have stayed at Morel's Inn in the past.
