Ryu X looks soo much better right now than at the All Japan. Everything from the girth, to the length, to the skin quality, and the luster. The picture just doesn't do it justice. I think a ripple in the water also caused it to look like it has a belly. I also understand that they used her for oya this year. Her shiroji is soo good right now, that it's whiter than a lot of the kohakus. We'll see how she does in the Rinyukai or Airinkai ( I forget which one it is) next month.

I didn't get to ask him if there were any going to the next All Japan, but he did show me a sanke that he says will be worthy in a few years time. It's currently around 85 cm and I think was yonsai. Staring into that pond makes me lose my bearings on size. Once I come out of the 1500 ton pond, everything else looks really tiny. Even an 85 cm koi looks small. It also seemed like they removed a lot of non gosanke from there. I was trying to look for some of the monsters I saw last year, but didn't see them. I did get some really good insight on Momotaro koi though.
