Here are some more pictures. I've had a little too much sake tonight The guy standing with me, Kenny Baba ( no relation to Ali Baba) makes the Momotaro Koi Food. I'm also sure that many of you will know the person doing pullups

Thanks for the pictures Rob. It is fun to live vicariously though your Japan experience.

It's my pleasure Ellen. As for myself, it's always nice to see pictures with other peoples experiences of not only koi. Although the koi pictures don't hurt! I'm on the last leg of my journey, and it's a bitter sweet one. It was a very succesfull trip and have seen and learned so much about koi and the Japanese culture, yet there's no place like home. I'm glad that my pictorial was not in vein, and that others enjoyed it. Hopefully one day, you'll experience the land of the rising sun and I will be living vicariously through your eyes.

Rob

I forget the exact date, but it's coming up really soon. It was either the last week of October, or the first week of November. I'm sure they'll post it on their website. I'll try to call him tomorrow to find out for you.

I do have video. I'll be going home tomorrow, so it'll be hard for me to do it tonight (12:31am). I'm just trying to fix all my stuff and ready myself for going home. I'll just burn you a copy and you can do with it what you will. The Momotaro days were the best for me I think. Very hospitable people and was treated like a king. I'm sure you'll be there again someday and will relive the days of the first time you were there. Sorting of the nisai was also very exciting, because I was able to see some very high class koi. I was also taught what to look for on certain bloodlines from their sanke and kohaku. Kind of strange when people tell you what to look for, and what a breeder tells you what to look for. Everyone will tell you to look for a large head, big shoulders and thick tail joint. But actually seeing it in a bowl and being taught is completely different. At the end of the day, when the koi were being sorted. All of the koi that I was interested in turned out to be the expensive ones, that had potential to grow over 90cm. These koi have a very different look than the ones that may not have the ability to grow very large. Patterns of the large growers that I saw may not be everyones taste, but when you are taught what to look for, the pattern really became secondary. I was also given a lecture on beni and sumi and how the Momotaro koi develope.
