I agree...definitely not taken care of very well. When they first came in last season, several had ulcers, ick...etc. Several died as well. Now, a year later, the remaining koi seem fine. It is a shame..But, I don't have any information about their previous conditions. I do see a little body malformation in some photo's. I couldn't spot this live as they were at the bottom of the pond..all trying to get under each other. I will not purchase her now. Maybe if she is there in 2 years and looks better.

Here is a picture of some strong Hi. I got this from page 30 reply #295 from Ojiya Bound PSKoi. I did not know how to transfer the picture so that it can be enlarged for better detail. It can be enlarged on the Ojiya thread.

    Hi Russell,

It's apples and oranges here. These are two completely different types of Hi. I agree with your assessment that this is a weaker Hi but not that it's necessarily unstable.

I really like the ginrin tancho next to the sanke

Give it time I bet the hi will come through and be a real nice fish, the body shape is very good, that is where I would spend my money

That wasn't a tancho...it was a ginrin shiro muji...but it's head was just kind of pink.

As Russell points out, The hi on that particular fish still has a "little" ways to go. According to Sakai (Matsunosuke) this is a very special fish. Look for it at the All Japan Show this coming January. Either 65 or 70 bu Class.
