I know my taste sure has changed!! My first "koi pond" was a 1200 gallon watergarden with a skippy filter that got cleaned once a year. It was full of mostly speckled koi and some goldies. How those poor fish survived is beyond me!!

I kept one just as a reminder. He is dwarfed by fish 1/3 of his age.
It's so hard to go to koi shows and not bring home fish. When I went to the KHA seminar in buffalo, I just HAD to try. So I got a small hi utsuri and put him in my carry-on bag. Isn't that terrible?
