Thanks man for the props...Education is an ongoing process...All I know is that if you want to study the future you have to know the past.

Antonio,

Could you eleborate on "if you want to study the future you have to know the past"? I am not sure I follow you on that one.

The education is an ongoing process I understand , in fact the weekend of February 24 - 25 will have a lot of education going on at the Sakai seminar.

I hope you will attend.

They are roughly 6-10". The smallest being the first pic posted and the largest being the last. The rest are somewhere in between. I'm also studying those aspects with these but I figured for sharing with everyone else I would concentrate on motoguro as it is easily photographed for the web.

I'll bet on #5. Nice sumi. As a shiro or a showa grow, the sumi often contracts but not so much on modern genetics. The fins change for that reason but also in all varieties as the fin gets thicker epidermis and white coloring as opposed to clear. #5 sumi might get tighter to the body but I believe it will be spectacular. Jim

I too think #5 has the best future motoguro. I thought about #6 but I believe it is male and the red in the right pec could be a problem. #5 looks like a female to me and think it will take a little longer to see the improvement, but it will be the best. Who is the breeder of your avatar shiro? How old is it. That's what motoguro should look like!

Dick B

My understanding is that about 4-5 years ago, Ogata switched parent sets and has been using an Omosako Oyagoi for his shiro breeding program. You could definitely see a major difference in his quality from one year to the next when he made the change. His fish used to be very yellowish on the head with creamy shiroji. Now the shiroji is much more refined and the heads on most all are nice and white.
