    Show Pix, 2007 ZNA SoCal . . .

    These were taken on Friday.

A beautiful day but a few problems were encountered; benching started late and continued on until 9 at night.

Had fun, met lots of old and new friends. Am headed back up as soon as I get these posted.

    Hope to see you there!

Found our tank -- now to unpack.

    Early Morning Brain Teaser . . .

When the shipment came into Eastern last month, I picked out 2 size 1 kohaku; one from Sakuma and one from Ogawa.

Well, I also took lots of pix and one other size 1 kohaku kept catching my eye, so after 10 days I went back and bought it, too. Total of three at this point; 2 Ogawa and 1 Sakuma.

So the babies went into QT, then Ken brought them to the show on Friday.

The bad news was one of the three he brought wasn't mine. The good news was it looked like it was better! Since it didn't have an owner, and since I felt sorry for Ken having to take it back to the store, I bought it, too. Then on Saturday morning he brought the missing baby. Total of four size 1 kohaku; 2 from Sakuma & 2 from Ogawa.

Here they are and one of them won Size 1 Kohaku First Place!

    Here's the challenge: Which one?

For extra credit: Which 2 are Sakuma and which 2 are Ogawa???

Gonna place my bet on that maruten in the bowl, Don. And I'm gonna guess that in the last pic the bottom fish and the maruten are from one breeder and the other two are from the other. I wouldn't know the difference between Sakuma and Ogawa bred fish......so here's a 50/50 guess--the pair just mentioned are Sakuma and the others two, Ogawa.

How wrong am I this time?

The roundest maruten and best odome as size 1, though I like the biggest patterned fish the best. The other two fish are Ogawa.

Before I scrolled down a bit, you did get me to say "Tonio's got on SHINY shoes," then I saw you were thinking the same thing.

Looking real cool..... Toni.... Nice jacket indeed....

Knowing Toni for many years and this is the first time ever seeing Toni has the shoes on.... Very glad to know Toni was part of the judging team... He got the eyes and knows "koi" real well....

The background man is keokoi. Joe is another true koi kichi in the Bay Area.
