Tateshita??

Click on this link and tell me what you think.

japanese koi fish for sale

To see the price and size, right click o the image and go to properties. The file name tells you the size(in cm) and price in Yen. Would love to know what the pro's think about this. What bugs me is why Dainichi would harvest right now??

look good to me!? Strange, how cheap they are? I like 26 and would buy it if offered to me at that price. Something seems too good to be true and you know what that usually means---- JR

$11,000 for a Dainichi Nisai. Are these his Top Tategoi? I highly doubt it. The top Tategoi Nisais go for higher price. They can harvest anytime they want, since Dainichi has new ponds setup in Southern Japan from what I heard so harvesting early would be probabal.

JR, which one would that be? I like these two and I could actually one of afford them! Especially S164, although the benni does look a bit finished?

did I do my yen/dollar conversions right? It looks like most are less than 200,000 yen which is less than $1734 US dollars (plus the added percentages they mentioned). that seems REALLY cheap to me!!

Hi Erns. s164 is nice and these fish do 'seem' to have the Dainichi white ground. 164 will have some interesting future development if it does finish of course. The beni is also very Dainichi like.
The other is more of a 'now fish' and more male looking than 164. I'd call it a show fish for now or over the next year. But with less of a future than the other , assuming your other choice finishes- that is the heart break of showa! Having all colors come together at once and having the teaser sumi finish at all.
The one I posted that I called 26 ( twenty sixth fish down on the list) has the body of Dainichi showa. They can stay 'thick and short' but if they stretch ( never jumbo, but big) they have a very imposing appearance with that head and those shoulders- very powerful looking adults. The sumi looks rich and will be fun to follow thru the finishing process. That little bit of white and strong polished beni will likely carry all that black well. I know some one who bought a similar look from Dainichi but higher quality and size/age for $35,000! So who knows??! And her sumi never really fully finished. Koi buying is like gambling. JR
