This is the most “viewed” thread ever at KB.

So how did they grow-out (pictures new or old)?

Saw Jeff Speck today at the SD Koi show and he told me that this thread had been bumped. I obtained the #1 pick from him, along with another Omosako. I don't have any recent photos, but I'll try to get one. Not a large koi, and Jeff let it go because it lost nearly all it's sumi. I've been tempted to give it away a couple times, but I'm rather stubborn and keep seeing sumi under the skin. A little sumi has come back up, but not nearly as much as it had.

You've done well... she looks very nice... I hope the sumi finishes filling in for you.. I still have a couple of these shiro as well... I'll have to get some pics or video when I get the pond un-covered.. in a month or two.. My one with the star pattern doesn't look anything like she did but I have one that still shows promise... I'm still waiting for the sumi to come back but the shiroji is very nice and the sumi that is there is inky black.. and I got one of the tancho showa that is a great looking koi in the pond.. the tancho is touching a bit on the shoulder but still a good looking koi.. I started with three and then I bought three more when someone else dropped out of the grow out.. and then I got two of the tancho.. so I ended up with eight koi.. I've re-homed a few because who can keep that many shiro utsuri in a collection unless they have an awful lot of room.. as far as I know the ones that I re-homed are all still kicking except one that died in a friends pond when he was having some bacterial issues..
anyway, I'll get some pics when I can ... remind me Meg if I forget
