    Momotaro Auction on May 15th

    Momotaro will be holding their final auction of the season on Thursday, May 15th and will be auctioning of a combined total of 60 kohaku/sanke/showa tosai.

    From their website:

    Momotaro Koi Farm will host a koi show in Autumn for these 60 pieces. The trophies for this koi show will be special Japanese pottery called Bizenyaki which is one of Okayama Prefecture’s most famous products. These Bizenyaki will all come from the Izezaki family, some of the best artists in Japan.

    Brian, Is it true at previous momotaro tosai auctions the best koi sold for $10,000 to $12,000 US dollars?

    Not sure about the last one as I wasn't there, but at previous ones I've seen price go well over 10 and even close to $20,000 USD sometimes.

    I placed a bid for a Sanke at previous auction. It ended up 14,000.00 US dallars. Lucky me that I did not win;-))
