    Anyone build DIY bead filter?

    Anyone build DIY bead filter from a Hayward filter body?

    I used one for a while but I just put a sinking K1 type material in it. It worked ok.

    At least one of the pool sand filter companies, I think it is Hayward, makes and up flow valve assembly. So you can use the stand down flow valve with sinking media...or the up flow valve with floating media. If you use larger media suck as K1 or similar, you may not have to change out the internal parts (no beads to stick in...or go through the standard pipe slots),
