Pls comment on this Tosai Showa

Attended the anniversary of a local breeder in Guangzhou (Canton) China today. The breeder put 50 tosai on auction and I got this one, 20cm, spawned in end May this year, parents being Dainichi & SFF.
    Pls kindly comment.

Nice wide mouth, and a good body. Could be a biggie!

And damn ugly, just like a showa should be at a young age. Please keep us posted on the development.

    Cheers,

    Grant

The body looks good, if somewhat more developed than typically seen in a tosai that size. The pattern is wonderful IMO. Beni and skin quality cannot be evaluated well from a photo. Nonetheless, for this age the Beni looks pretty good. I would be very happy to have it to grow. I hope you have a female. If so, you will enjoy her very much for the next two years even if some flaws become noticeable. 'She' is a koi to dream on. Nice choice.

Nice fish and very pretty fish farm.

Built and subsidized by the Chinese government or private enterprise?

NOTHING wrong with the showa yet....
it has alot of potential and will be entertaiing as it comes together...or falls apart.
It is only missing a little more hi in the tail area, but if the sumi comes in right it'll be everything you could want in a showa.

Now let's talk about that farm...could you start another thread?
I am especially impressed with the filtration. The Concrete Porous Media Showers are a first for me, and at the end of an old style raceway filter at that!
Please if you can post as many pics of the farm as you can, and especially the filter system.
( And may I copy some of them and post them on other sites....those Porous Media Showers are quite shocking.)

With an operation as substantial as this, I am sure we will end up hearing more about it in the next few years.

The farm is 100% private enterprise.
