But in my favor;
I love this hobby and am devoted to it's survival as an amateur endeavor.
I don't make or take a single Cent from anyone for what I do
I have 'street cred' as a judge and straight shooter with no hidden agenda
I only attack those that attack me or promote bad koi practices
I have the good of the newbie at heart always, albeit some times with a tough love approach.
I have MANY ideas as to how to make the Dubya Dubya, Its website and magazine do better for the koi community.

If I am elected I will work to bring all factions together and also 'help' the dealer community to find a more productive way of making progress without employing the divide and conquer approach that pits hobbyist against hobbyist in a puppeteer way. Not everyone gets along- this is a reality. And behind the scenes the dealers fight like cats and dogs. But I have ideas as to how to make the center ( the hobbyists that count the most) happy with decisions as to how to manage the difficult trouble makers that roam the Dubya Dubya. It is humaine, forgiving, reasonably tolerate, but firm point of view.
Please vote for me as your candidate the fall, JR H&C
You and whoever else's radical and peaceless actions very much may kill this hobby.

Thank you for responding Alex. It is gratifying to see how many posters my campaign is bringing onto this thread. Makes we wonder how on earth so many first time posters have found our movement !
But Alex, I assume you are new to the hobby and I'd ask you to keep an open mind regarding my platform and campaign. Change is very threatening to people in general. But change can also be good, and refreshing to the process.
I've been working within the hobby for 20 years now. As officer in my local club, as show chairman, as lecturer, as a writer, as a health advisor, as judge, and as committee member on both the National and the International level. We've built the hobby up a lot in that time. There are shows all over the country and the world put on and supported by AKCA and ZNA. There are two hobbyist organization magazines- KOI USA and Nichirin and there are countless benefits provided by the two organizations created by literally hundreds of volunteers. And among them creating some small benefit/contribution was me.
So Alex, when you sugguest that it is myself or any of the other active member you identify that is tearing the hobby down, it just doesn't make any sense as we are the folks that built the koi hobby here in the USA to begin with. Or at least inherited the job from the folks who stated the organizations we now all belong to.
I would simply like to spread that positive reality to the fledging board that currently struggles with internal battles and the disturbing practice of attempting complete control over members with threats of banning.
I think I can change that. One thing is for sure, the walls will come down if I'm elected and I will work hard to heal the wounds created by Dubya Duyba and the rest of the organized koi community.

So as they say, give peace a chance. JR

I see.
I am not sure who is dubya dubya, but I think I shall leave that to you and whoever else is on the 'inside' joke.

Fate works in weird ways. Each person, may they be synonymous to your ideals or against, plays an important role in what the situation, country's, or hobby's future, in this case, the koi hobby.

Dont look at it as if these are problems that plague the koi hobby, but see these problems as necessary steps to guide the hobby to its more pure purpose of being.

I hope you can change this. You have my vote JasPR.
Also realize this, you may be just a pawn in the game of fate in order to change the hobby, or you may be the ruling king that makes the changes. We wont know until it happens.
but have caution, it is still possible to tear down the castle even from the hands that have built it.
You seem to know what you are doing, it should be in your best interest to preserve the essence of this hobby, as with any high ranking official,.... whatever that essence may be.

Dubya Dubya Kay Cee is the long winded way of typing out the name of the "club" JR is hoping to turn around in a positive way. The reason for typing it that way is that the current leadership of the club and its website have so long and often sought to troll other forums (like this one) for new members that it had in the past become necessary to block their acronyms to halt that practice.
WWKC and KoiPhen have set out to tear down every other forum and Koi organization they see as an obstacle to their own attempt to usurp leadership in a hobby they have done nothing to build. JR's candidacy is a hopeful alternative to the current divisive leadership, offering a constructive and unifying alternative.

Thanks for the response Alex. The thing is, I am talking about change on the bulletin board but what I'd really like to do is preserve what we have created as a koi community. The organizations both in Japan and here in the USA ( and in the UK for that matter) have weathered many political storms over their histories. I won't bore the readers with stories, but trust me, there have been stormings of the gate on more than one occasion. Usually the revolutionaries are upset about a specific issue or it is just people stuff bubbling to the surface. But in the end, the ZNA, the AKCA and the BKKS survive. I think the reason is these organizations are true Insitutions at this point- many generations old ( In koi hobbyist terms).
Here's what I've learned--- After all the emotions and all the shouting and all the threads, running and maintaining a National or International organization is about a lot of hard and often thankless work. So the egos and the warriors soon drift off and leave the hard work to the selfless member workers who never get enough credit for what they do.

I'd like to take a moment and mention a friend of mine- Steve Childers. This guy works very hard to put out a super magazine. No pay, lots of grief and no goal other than to put out a product that reflects the koi hobby at it's best. It takes a special person just to know what that means! Some of the current crop of newbies don't like the guy! Fine, but respect what he does as a volunteer. Next time you see the guy, thank him for what he does.
Behind and around Steve are dozens of members of AKCA quietly and unselfishly giving all there energies to the organization. And mostly for a sense of satisfaction of a job well done. And to maintain a continuum in the chain of volunteers and amateurs that created this hobby so many years ago now. It was not the breeders or the dealers or the 2009 newbies that created the hobby. It was the hobbyists who handed the torch to the next hobbyist. People come and go, others burn out but the mission statement survives. If Steve retired from koi tomorrow, another would step in to take his place -- and so it continues as it always has.

Coyfen could be a part of this and not a group that is obsessed with tearing down others as if it was a football match. Think about what Coyfen could be and not who it is currently warring with.

JR , Candidate for H & C

No need for that Pro Ponder. Alex is helping bring out some important differences in groups and organizations. Sometimes new comers bring interesting perspective to things. Alex, thanks for your thoughts.
