Thank you for responding Alex. It is gratifying to see how many posters my campaign is bringing onto this thread. Makes we wonder how on earth so many first time posters have found our movement !
But Alex, I assume you are new to the hobby and I'd ask you to keep an open mind regarding my platform and campaign. Change is very threatening to people in general. But change can also be good, and refreshing to the process.
I've been working within the hobby for 20 years now. As officer in my local club, as show chairman, as lecturer, as a writer, as a health advisor, as judge, and as committee member on both the National and the International level. We've built the hobby up a lot in that time. There are shows all over the country and the world put on and supported by AKCA and ZNA. There are two hobbyist organization magazines- KOI USA and Nichirin and there are countless benefits provided by the two organizations created by literally hundreds of volunteers. And among them creating some small benefit/contribution was me.
So Alex, when you sugguest that it is myself or any of the other active member you identify that is tearing the hobby down, it just doesn't make any sense as we are the folks that built the koi hobby here in the USA to begin with. Or at least inherited the job from the folks who stated the organizations we now all belong to.
I would simply like to spread that positive reality to the fledging board that currently struggles with internal battles and the disturbing practice of attempting complete control over members with threats of banning.
I think I can change that. One thing is for sure, the walls will come down if I'm elected and I will work hard to heal the wounds created by Dubya Duyba and the rest of the organized koi community.
So as they say, give peace a chance. JR
