Unfortunatly a liberal , doesn't care about how to "play the part" anymore. This society is drifting farther and farther away from morals. As I told Bob a while back a good friend of mine died right about the same time Bob's dad died. I was raised that an adult wears a suit and a tie to a funeral. When I showed up there might have been 5% of the people in a suit and a tie. It was 105 degrees, I am in a black suit and tie, but it doesn't matter. You respect the passing of a loved one.
Anymore people don't follow what is tought to them by their elders.

Bob's comment is typical anymore. But for people that have morals the first lady should always play the part as have all the previous first ladies.

How would it be to show up to a koi show and the judges show up in flip-flops and wife beater shirts with their shorts hanging off their arses? You'd look at them and say these baffoon's are judging my koi

The first lady should never be short of perfection, but this is a different world as to why Bob thinks it's ok for her to "dress down" and doesn't think your pic is funny.

PS: I received the same e-mail but with text that made the pic even better........

The woman dresses beautifully and plays the part very well. In addition...she has a brain in her head. Much different than the last president or his air-headed wife(or sarah palin..duh!!!). I respect intelligence...period. You put an idiot in an expensive suit, you know what you get...george w. You know where THAT has led us...right???

I agree with dressing properly for funerals, holidays and such. No doubt about it...there is a lack of respect out there regarding these things. But..it still stands that content of character far outweighs a pretty package.

Apparently not beautifully enough, or the e-mail would have never started If you think that's a pretty package, Ohhh dear..........

Like I said, a first lady should play the part and follow the previous first ladies. Don'tcha think

You wouldn't expect the Queen of England to show her face in slut red lip stick and 6" pumps would ya?

It's not as if she doesn't have lessor people to advise her of what to wear

No kidding! I saw nothing wrong with that outfit. Her shorts were not that short and she had on sneakers too. I may not agree with all of her husbands policies, but I don't get what her shorts have to do with anything.

Now these shorts are too short!!!

sorry Carrie, our First Lady needs some new advisors as the 23 PAs she has are doing her no justice. I don't care were Jackie O would have been coming home from she would have NEVER looked like that stepping out of Air Force One!! so much for Camalot returning to the White House.

My opinion--- Mrs B was a class act and loaded with an aire of common sense.
Mrs O is a classic liberal, classy enough but physically akward and filled with ideology. The dress code simply reflects the person and the times and ideology

I'd rank our current president very low. Lowest since Carter. And pretty much for the same reasons. Nothing productive is getting done. In fact, I think everything so far is either a recognized failure or 'too soon to tell'.

Now I know something about economics and the markets. And I can tell you that recessions are cyclical and inevitable. And God help the poor SOB that is elected at the wrong time in the natural cycles. Our system is based on expansion and then natural contraction. But what leadership CAN do are things that either worsen or lessen the depth and breathe of the phases of recession and expansion.
We are likely out of this current recession even if it doesn't feel like it. The technical definition is likely to come very soon and find that we were actually out of the recession last August, technically speaking. And technically, unemployment is a lagging indicator that catches up with that end of a ression months later ( except in the case of a 'jobless' recovery). But in THIS case, unemployment is also a LEADING indicator- meaning it is so high, it has a potential to pull us into a second phase of this recession or a new recession altogether. So the 'patient' is very weak and the Government must begin to see if the patient/economy can stand on it's own beginning on Feb 1 ( a VERY important date for the markets). For that is when the Federal reserve begins to withdraw from holding up the patient from behind the scenes ( the massive printing of money and buying of it's own securities so as to create a demand for those bonds and mortgages and hold the rates low and the demand high). IF the patient falls down again, it will absolutely be Mr O's fault . The reason? Because while this rock star president flies around the world for awards and involves himself in fiddling with the health care system for political points and pure ego at this point ( as the bill now makes no sense to either side), Rome is burning. In this case, I have never, in my adult life spoken to so many shakers and movers who will do nothing as they have no idea where the ecomony sits and were tax and regulatory policy will be next year? Can anyone make a business plan ( including bring back workers) if they have no idea what the tax laws will be next year ( business taxes, estate taxes, regulatory taxes, health care costs, energy taxes) -- NO, the answer is no. This is a sign of weak leadership-- to keep an entire nation insecure as to their future. If the next year is anything like this year, Mr O will go down as one of our worst modern presidents ranked right down there with Jimmy Carter.
So Brutus, I write all this to say, it is not the man who gets stuck with the recession upon election or the ups and downs of the natural capitalist system's nature who should get credit for it or hung for it. It is what one does with the 'ball' when it is handed to them. Reagan ran with that ball in a remarkable fashion and set up the expansion for a great 15 year run. Carter tried and made things worse up until that point. Clinton did an excellent job of not upsetting the apple cart and is likely the second or third best administrator/leader we've had in our adult lifetimes. Bush II was asleep at the switch the entire second term and congress walked all over him. Still he gets better marks for running the economy ( don't forget the potential downturn after 9/11, he gets props for that one) than either Carter or our current guy-- who in a word is 'ineffective'. If not for the Treasury and Federal reserve worker bees, we'd be in a depression right now. Mr O's greatest weakness is decision making. He's in way over his head. IMHO. JR

Thanks Meg!!!!!!! I guess Carrie didn't read your post

I am sure she was way to busy riding home on Air Force One to sit in a chair and let "someone", do her hair and make-up. It was probably to much work as well to have one of her assistants lay out some clothes for her It not like she has to lift a finger being in her position.......
