I`m sure nobody who has posted on here has changed their mind, and really don`t believe that that can change anyone elses. But yet it continues.....

The only thing I walk away from it with, is the same question I always have......
Why are the same vocal people that claim to have traditional , conservative Christian values also so quick to belittle, mock , name call and insult, when they are trying to make a point.......

I do think discussion about the issues can take place without name calling and such. I just don;t think that will happen.

Yeah, Yeah. If anyone makes a joke or a smart alec remark it makes it impossible to have a conversation with them. Political correctness run amok.

Once again the definition of "rudeness" is measured according to Whose Ox is being Gored

If a Christian votes for someone because they are straight they are right wing extremist nut jobs, but if they vote for someone because they are gay they are progressive. Nonsense. If you vote for someone BECAUSE they are straight OR gay you are exercising a form of bias rooted in your desire to satisfy someone or something. Neither of those criteria have any bearing on how a person will govern.

If a White person votes for a Black candidate because they are Black they are progressive but if they vote for someone because they are White they are racists. If a Black person votes for a White person because they are White they are "Uncle Toms", but if they vote for a Black person because they are Black they are loyal to the cause of civil rights. NONSENSE. Dr. Kings "Dream" was that racial considerations would go by the wayside in favor of personal character being the sole judgment of a persons worth. It is just as racist for a Black person to vote for a Black candidate BECAUSE of their skin color as it is for a White person. If the color of your candidate gives you comfort you are a terribly shallow person. If their color gives you discomfort, you are equally pathetic.

If someone believes in economic liberty rather than central planning they are mean spirited, greedy, and uncaring about the poor. If someone believes in giving power to the State to confiscate private property for the purpose of wealth re-distribution they are selfless and compassionate. Hogwash. The willingness of anyone to enforce the confiscation of their neighbors property (money) for the purpose of "government charity" is not compassion. It is a form of greed and envy being acted out via 3rd party. The willingness to give of YOUR OWN money to charitable works (of your own choosing) and granting that same privilege to your neighbor IS both compassionate at an appreciation of personal liberty.

It seems to bother "progressive voters" greatly to have the racist attitudes of their progressive "leaders" like Clinton (Bill that is) Harry Reid, etc... exposed. Al Gore trumpeted the heroic efforts of his father in the fight for civil rights... Al Gore Senior was one of the chief architects of the filibuster AGAINST civil rights reform, but Gore gets away with the lie because he's a "progressive".

The graft and corruption of too many politicians in both parties is either excused or condemned based on who YOU voted for. The more "progressive" the corrupt candidate is, the more likely they are to be forgiven and sent back to D.C to do it again. Conservatives (or pretend conservatives) get caught in the exact same things and they are routinely run out of office on a rail (as they should be).

Let someone like me or Chris or whomever come along and lift the skirt on this kind of hypocrisy and we are labeled as mean or divisive or right wing "extremists" who are not worthy of hearing. Try to do it with a bit of political satire and we are a racist/bigot/sexist/homophobe.

I didn't realize that honesty was any of those things.

Larry, Larry, Larry..........

I didn`t bother to read more than the first few lines of that post. Because it simply doesn`t matter.

I have 300 friends on FB. All kinds of people , from all different walks of life. Probably at least 1/3 of those are Republicans. How come, YOU were the ONLY person that decided it was appropriate to defend the use of the "N" word in a joke?? I mean, seriously......you were the only person. Nobody else ...........

Although I DO have to admit, I took guilty pleasure in the conversation that followed between you and two political science professors. One, a good friend of mine , has written 17 books. And appeared on CNN on more than a few occasions. AND is a Libertarian. If nothing else.....it was amusing. And sad as well.....

And yet, after that......you have the **** to think I make assumptions about your beliefs?? You HAVE to be kidding me.....

And that dear lady is precisely what I have come to expect. If you read something, anything, with which you disagree you shut down. The meat that mattered followed where you stopped reading. God forbid you read on for you might find something you would agree with, and coming from me that would be unacceptable to you.

As to the nonsense about me and the "N" word, your mis-characterization of the whole thing may have played into your friends perceptions. I didn't write any joke using that language. I did think it a funny bit of political satire that took a shot at the FOX news network you and Bob assumed I get my news from.

Since you are either incapable or unwilling to read beyond the first few lines, have him/her read it for you. If he/she disagrees with anything I said let him/her say so.

I can give you two good reasons; Poor upbringing and to selfish to pay their fair share of taxes.

And how much is anyone's "fair share" my collectivist friend? Please, define for all of us where you draw the line on how much of any persons life they are allowed to own vs how much of their life is the property of the collective?

Thumbs up Heard of the Constitution???

Since I cannot be trusted to know anything about the Law, Constitution, Founding principles, etc... of the United States of America perhaps a bit of understanding from persons far more qualified and credentialed than I will help some of you to understand my governing philosophy.
Courtesy of Hillsdale College, an Independent University that has somehow managed to survive since 1844 without ever asking for or receiving a single dime of taxpayer funding...

Hillsdale Constitution Town Hall

To make it even easier for everyone who cares to see and hear what I'm talking about, here are the direct links to the webcasts.

Session I: America’s Foundational Principles
Dr. David J. Bobb
Director, Allan P. Kirby, Jr. Center for Constitutional Studies and Citizenship, Hillsdale College
This session examines the ten core principles of the American Founding—all of which are as true today as 220 years ago. Play Flash Video

Session II: The Founders’ Constitution
Dr. Matthew Spalding
Adjunct Fellow, Kirby Center; Director, Simon Center for American Studies, Heritage Foundation
This session explores how citizens should understand the plain, written meaning of the Constitution. Play Flash Video

Session III: The Constitution and the Civil War
Dr. Paul Moreno
Senior Fellow, Kirby Center; Dean of Faculty; William and Berniece Grewcock Chair in Constitutional History and Associate Professor of History, Hillsdale College
The Constitution endured its greatest crisis in the Civil War. This session gives an account of Abraham Lincoln’s statesmanship and constitutional efforts to preserve the Union. Play Flash Video

Session IV: The Progressives’ Constitution
Dr. Ronald Pestritto
Senior Fellow, Kirby Center; Charles and Lucia Shipley Chair in the American Constitution and Associate Professor of Political Science, Hillsdale College
Rejecting the principles of the American founders, the Progressives advanced political and moral “values” in their place. This session, emphasizing the thought of Woodrow Wilson, examines the Progressive movement and its understanding of the Constitution. Play Flash Video

Session V: The Administrative State and the Duties of Citizens
Dr. Larry P. Arnn
President, Hillsdale College
The administrative state—more than just “big government”—advances a theory of human nature and the rule of experts. How should citizens think about the Constitution in an age that largely ignores it? And how can they act upon the constitutional principles on which the country was founded? Play Flash Video
