    Bonsai prepped for show

Spent a day each on these small trees. tedious wiring! Hopefully each suceeding year it will be less a hassel. Show is in August so should give time to recover from all the handling caused by wiring.

first is a cedar and second a hemlock.

Thanks for sharing Dick. Bonsai is something I haven't tried to tackle yet, but how I do enjoy seeing the way you put a "vision" together so carefully. It is a truly captivating art form that I enjoy, even if only from a distance.

appreciate your thoughts....my teacher would REALLY appreciate your comment about an art form which is his belief. Most folks think it's just another horticultural :green thumb" type thing and those really into it feel it's an art form. So thanks from both of us.....

Very nice indeed. You can tell that the placement in the pot, and the pot in which they're planted get almost as much thought and planning as the bonsai itself. The heavy end of the pot and the cedar stretching out the oposite side give the impression of the cedar striving to keep it's vessel upright. Sort of reaching out as far as it can to maintain balance.

    cool
