noun 1. a person, especially an orator or political leader, who gains power and popularity by arousing the emotions, passions, and prejudices of the people.

There you have it--- many a politician has used demagogue technique in speeches to gain support. But a rare breed of politician is a demagogue by definition-- That is, they use their skills to arouse emotion and prejudices’ to gain popularity. And that is the 'stripe' of our current president.
He turns blacks against whites by injecting himself or his lackeys into demagogue actions/speeches (an old Jessie Jackson and Al Sharpton technique) and he turns the middle class against the upper class with the Buffett rule. He turns all of America away from government’s hand in the mortgage crisis and towards evil banks. And he turns all oil companies into world polluters and killers of children for the sake of profit--- an appeal to all environmentalists in the country. He suggests that if the supreme court turns down Obama care as constitutional that they are blocking congressional law. Vilify, and divide, vilify and divide.
His latest mess is in the area of fracking and natural gas development. It could change the future of the USA and its dependency on foreign sources for energy. A huge C change in all our lives, our children’s lives and our country's future. But he has already demagogue the issue to the point where major confusion will rein if he starts to allow some 'evil fuels' and not others? And the billions and billions already 'invested' in unicorn-like sources of energy will not only be admittedly lost, but the low cost of natural gas will make expensive wind and solar simply a pipe dream. In short, his election is more important that the reality of the situation. His future, a liberal pipe dream Vs 100 plus years of experience with the internal combustion engine and a ‘Pacific ocean’ of natural gas under our feet. Talk about cursing the darkness and refusing the candle!!
He has also ( and will push big time this week) the Buffett rule to tax anyone making a million a year or more a flat 30% on capital gains. Seems 'fair' until you actually learn something about what he's talking about---
This is another AMT (alternative minimum tax) on top of what we already have -- an AMT tax! It is also a con in the fact that the SAME rules that allow excess exposure to the first AMT tax are still there for the second AMT tax! In addition to this, it is estimated that this 30% tax will put a .02% dent in the Obama budget. That makes it trivia and obvious proof of demagoguing on the presidents part.
This is the year of 'no substance' from the president--- actually a fourth year of no substance from the president-- just distraction. Shot a pirate, pick a fight, have a beer with a cop and a professor--- it’s all the same, demagogue and distract. Terrible leader.
