Is it koi? I don't think so! Nope, it is another species of ornamental fish-----

I hear a great white shark is a little pricey I wanted to keep one in a swimming pool, but the shipping was waaay too high.

And Diz has it! The 'hype' price offered as said to be 200,000 pound or euro? Using any math that is close to 300 K US. I said 'hype' number because it was offered but not accepted. Once upon a time in Japan, the Shinkokai offered 1 million US to any breeder who could produce a 1 meter gosanke. When that happened everyone seemed to get amnesia.
I was personally present and consulted on the purchase of a 90,000 (US $) and a 120,000 (US $) koi. And I know of a koi that was said to have sold for $180,000.
But the Singapore and Malaysian collectors of arrowana are
S-E-R-I-O-U-S fish keepers! The lines are very well known and established much like Dainichi and Matsunosuke are in the koi world. But the breeders and high end pieces also carry ID chips under the skin! Now THAT is serious! Because the wild supply is limited by law regarding collection, and because the morphs are in captivity and represent results of selective breeding and well controlled, this market can only rise.

As it turns out arrowana might be God's way of telling us we have too much money! JR
