Oh my,
After 10,000 post you all went bonkers. One thing for sure you all finelly convinced Russ that there is no such thing as gin rin doitsu ki-goi..perhaps a review of this whole thread is in order . I really think this subject was not covered in detail and not enough thought was given. What say we all start over ? [ki goi rules ]

A no- step kohaku! I love it!

Seriously, I think we have seen something demonstrated quite well regarding the concept of a virtual reality koi club. Unless a virtual reality koi club is somehow attached to the real world, like KB is to the Japanese koi culture or KS is associated with AKCA as a member club, you are a product of google searching with no real grounding in experience or depth of knowledge. The land of the lost and it's one eyed king is attempting to reverse this process, in that, a virtual reality is created and then this illusion attempts to recreate the koi culture with a viirtual reality real world koi culture. Makes one wonder if you actually even need to own koi, or just pictures of koi. So I guess it follows that 'albino koi' can be like albino snakes and albino bunny rabbits- a virtual reality definition?
Now before anyone says " hey JR, you have something against google?" No, not at all. I use search engines all the time to verify facts and to broaden views and look for examples of real life experiences from others. But when I do that, I do not come to a subject with zero knowledge only to find a nugget of information and build my understanding on that alone.
That becomes a game of 'my google search is better than your google search'. We saw this with Jungle G when he was explaining FIR in bacteria house by referencing submarine construction and secret military devices. And again, when Hot Air produced dozens of google searches per night about anything and everything that appeared to him to be a response on a given subject. And now we see someone telling us, albino in koi means without color ( white).
Jungle G had zero understanding of biofilm and microbial action and therefore searched for FIR examples as a physics principle. True facts used to distort the subject at hand.
Hot Air, is fairly clueless about disease dynamics and so mad cow disease is/was the same as KHV in his mind. Again, true facts used to distort the subject at hand.
And now we have genetics for the idiot as google searches on albino bring up pink eyed white/colorless bunny rabbit proof.

I find myself, once again, suggesting that our fun and learning on these various boards be tempered with actual experience and selective culling of uninformed posters telling us about their recent google searches. Unless, of course, these snippets of facts are used as re-enforcement of info already in the koi culture knowledge banks. Otherwise it is the stuff of a confused mind.

Probably more disappointing then the pixie comments from the Idiot Dark Lord were those of our own Russ. To respond with " they just so badly want to be right" is so misleading, dismissive and disappointing. I'm not sure if he was just currying favor or is really being patronizing? But he did say to me, he learned something and found the information interesting. I took him at his word and now I'm not sure what to believe? Who can we really trust as men of their actual words on these boards? Very disappointing.

Well with all that said it's time to close this thread. March is here and it's time for those of us in the "cooler" states to start ramping up the water changes and doing the spring maintenence....so for all you lurkers get out from behind your keyboards and do something nice for your koi .
