mr myogi would have been proud

American Bonsai expert Jim Doyle from PA was in Seattle Monday Night at the U of Dub
horticulture Bldg to take a juniper and make something the karate kid would have been proud of....bonsai's look nice by the pond so thought might be fun to post something a little different

Set them free! Set them free!!! LOls

Hope mine made it thru their first winter as outdoor/inground trees?!

Seriously, looks like a fascinating event. You should come out to see Chase Rosade at work- another PA. master. JR

Dick, that had to be so much fun, I can't wait for this spring to buy a new tree and go to town. I really have never had the nerve to try shari and jinns on a bonsai before, great stuff thanks

John, one of the events popular in our bonsai study groups is an excercise called "first cut".
It's for those just learning and afraid to make the first move. so they bring in their trees and exchange by drawing with someone slse who makes the first cut.....it gets easier after awhile

first cut sounds like it would be a fun way to get past that first nerve wrecking step
