NOW HAS PICTURES......Please critique my Sanke

I bought this Sanke on 5/7/08 at approx. 3 inches. I am posting a picture of it with 2 other fish I bought that day, the other 2 were approx. 6 and 7 inches. I purchased these 3 fish when my QT was completed to grow out in the QT to keep the filters "alive" so QT would be ready should I ever need it. My QT is approx. 4 X 8, metered at 650 gallons. On a separate thread, I am going to post current picture of the Kohaku to get your opinions and the Goshiki is now all white, destined to live in the QT until too big. On 9/8/08 while doing my weekly water change and maintenance on my pond and QT, I decided to pull the Sanke to see how it was doing. My QT has been going through "new pond syndrome" so I have only caught glimpses of the 3 fish but cleared up now and wanted to see what I have. I was shocked when I pulled the Sanke, she went into the QT at about 3 inches and on 9/8/08 she measures approx. 8 1/2 inches. The tub she is in has inches and half inches marked and is 8 1/2 inches wide.
So, what do you think of her, good or bad, I want to learn.

I did figure out the thumbnails but I really wanted the larger pictures right in the post but will have to settle for this never could get the other ones to work.

Hopefully, someone will see that it now has pictures and give me some opinions.

Not a bad fish considering the size when you got it.

Unfortunately, the pictures make it tough to give any real assessment. By the coloring I would guess she is a he. And it's a pleasing pattern to my eye. However, the important stuff is hard to tell...

Any chance you could get a few pictures of a bit better quality? More of the classical head down, entire body type shots?

Others with more experience may be able to glean more than I from what you posted. But hey, I can barely recognize a decent koi with perfect pictures!....

Hey, no one going to critique my little Sanke.

Someone posted probably a "he" but this OK because I think "she" is cute.

Pretend I am Ethan and critique the he$$ out of it.

The pictures aren't the best quality, but personally I like the pattern, the beni looks like it has nice maruzome kiwa along the shoulder region. The body is well proportioned and slender. From the picture of the head, it appears that it may have a smallish mouth which may mean that it possibly won't grow too big.

I find it hard to critique as I am only just starting out on my journey into koi appreciation, there are people with much more experienced eyes than myself, who may help you out.

Pretty much took the words right outta my mouth. You did a nice job of picking a pretty decent fish, especially considering the size at the time.

Are you sure that it is a Sanke? Note the sumi along the koi's right gill plate and up to the head. Classic Showa trait. Also, and although the sumi is not fully developed, tends to look "flat" with a slight wrapping effect.

It will be interesting to see it in a year or two but do not be surprised if your Sanke is a Showa.
