    tanks

    Thanks PB

I emailed him. They sound like exactly what I want. Only to go in the garage. Next year they can become QTs and singles tanks.

Here's what I built. 1200 gallons, and quite inexpensive after the dust settled. I didn't use a bakki because my wife doesn't want the noise. So far I've been able to grow 4 koi with heavy feeding and high temps without any water quality issues. Very happy with how it's worked out.

    Here I go again

    1200 gallon winter pond

Looks really good Steve, I am thinking of something similar in a 2,000 size, for next year, but, we are wintering here and moving come spring, so got to be portable. The goal this winter is only to carry through 3 kohaku.

    1200 gallon tanks

It looks like its going to be the Polytank, the Behlen listed dealers in this area dont stock these, so would have to pay a big freight charge to ship one. The dealer wont order more to get a freight break. So will pay half as much freight for a Polytank.

Looking at building or buying shower trays, so far price advantage is building them and going for the better media. Have found the pump I want, efficient, low wattage, which will give over 2 tanks per hour turnover, with the very low stockage this should be adequate for the winter. Probably will build 4 trays, 4' long as the material is easy to cut for that, 4' long , 16" deep and 18" wide.

The only catch is will have to have the fish shipped rather then picking them up as the tank wont be cycled soon enough. Better to pay the shipping and not be sorry.

    Polytanks

Got the PT 9650, 1200 gallon ordered for early Oct, shame cant get the Behlens but this works out, if the local TSC will order some bigger ones in the spring I may well get a couple, meanwhile they do have the Behlen 625 in stock, ya never know.

It will have one or more Bakkis, and a foam fractionater if I get to it, I hope to, Ethans design, sure looks good to med. For sure want it once I am feeding regular.

    Life is good.

Take a good look at Steve's FF.
Works directly off of the Bakki water return so you have no need for a separate unit
