Just for fun I thought I would update this thread. We have dug up my lines from the skimmers, changing the 3" line to a 4" line and running them both directly to an RDF. We will be doing the final plumbing on the RDF in the next few days. I can't wait to see what happens!!! My shower has made a difference in the clarity of the water, but I am still getting more debris than I want in the top tray of the shower. I expect to see a big change in that when the RDF goes online.
    Next stop maybe an Ethanator!

RDFs are cool. One of our club members builds his own. Of course he owns a robotics company that has a machine shop.

Just an update. The RDF is installed and has been running for about a month. It has made a huge difference in the clarity of my water as well as a significant decrease in the amount of time I have to devote to maintenence. There has even been a decrease in the amount of debris I am finding in my Cetus sieves which run off my bottom drains. The water loss from the jet pumps is a plus for me as that is mini water changes everyday. I now only do 10-15% water changes once a week plus the refills on an every other or every third day basis to replace the water lost from the RDF. I am sure there may be problems in the future as there are with most new designs, but for the present I am very happy!!

Glad to hear your systems up and running, I've installed a couple of the RDF's now and my clients are very happy with the performance. One client says it's like his pond is on auto-pilot
