Hi Sue,
Glad to see you could get on bito. How's Dicks buying trip going? I don't see how you could stay home??
Well the pond has been filled to w/in 8" of the summer operating depth. The meter Mike loaned me read 267600 at the beginning and finished at 281000, with 8" to go, that's 13,400 gal. I about fell over. More water than I thought.
As you know the weather is changing here in Minnesota. The water going into the pond was 64 which was petty close to the temp of the small q tank in my basement so I moved 5 of the B squad out just to see what would happen. They've been out for a wk now and seem to be doing just fine in spite of the water temp dropping to 50.
Here's what it looks like with water in it,

Wow Jim, that's much more water then you thought you would get!! GREAT!!! What are your plans for finishing off the top edges? Looks like you've got everything running well!! You have got to be so excited about finally getting to this stage!! It's been a long wait!! Tomorrow I hope to put some water in our new smaller pond to "set" the liner in place. I'll leave about a foot in the bottom for a while - let the liner settle into place and then cut through for the TPRs. Then we'll put it to bed for the winter.

Hi Mike, Sue & L'Help,
The next step is to put the decking on the filter pit. I'll have to make sure the trap door is large enough so I can hoist and drop down the remaining filter parts next spring. Summers here in MN are way too short.
Sue the edge finishing will wait til next summer. I intend to create a board walk that'l cant about a foot over the edge of the pond. I'll also create a waterfalls in the corner where the single return pipe is. I'm still considering how I'll accomplish that. We'll see.
Mike are you guys in Japan yet? Say hi to Devin for me . I bet he's having a blast. If you see any nice Kindai Showas email me.

Jim
