Does anyone know if using limestone in a koi pond has any affect on the water? In my case, it would be used in the water as part of a structure. I have read on here that lime has an effect on the ph level but is that the same lime in limestone? Thanks!
Limestone is a buffer and will neutralize acids. In areas where there are large limestone deposits, unpolluted rainwater, which has a pH of less than 5.6, has the acid in it buffered.
I would not worry about using limestone in your pond.
